Illinois Constitutional Convention 2008

Welcome to Illinois Constitutional Convention. The first hurdle in getting a new constitution is answering the call for a constitutional convention. Many won't understand the importance of such a call, and those who do will be the ones to work early to try and take control of the opportunity from the beginning. These entities include labor unions, advocates for universal health care, anti-terror propagandists, national ID advocates, and proponents of centralized federal governmental power. The move is on to further centralize power and amalgamate the states into a federal municipal union as opposed to a union of sovereign republics.

The amount of research involved is overwhelming, which is why I have focused mainly on the Bill of Rights and other fundamental matters regarding the devolution of power from People to government. I will suggest some changes for the respective branches, but addressing the diminishment of rights in exchange for a safe, surveyed, homogenous, and obedient citizenry is the most important issue. The more people are deceived into surrendering their rights the stronger the government becomes because it is harder to take something back once it has been sacrificed.

I urge all of you to begin the discussion amongst your friends and family about voting "YES" for a constitutional convention, and then for voting in delegates who will work for the people claiming the constitution for themselves instead of handing it over to the oligarchy on a silver platter.
